Do You Push Yourself Too Hard?

We live in a culture that encourages excellence, competition, hard work and perseverance.

It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

Aren’t you pooped?!

We wear our fatigue and our stress like badges of honor – proof that we’re working ‘hard’ and doing ‘enough’.

But how do you know if you’re pushing yourself too much?

At what point have you crossed over from the pursuit of excellence to something else entirely?

I’m all for raising your standards in your life, but are you expecting too much out of yourself? Is there such a thing?

Speaking personally, I can always tell if I’m pushing myself too hard because I’ll get sick easily, I won’t have restful sleep, and I will feel like everyone I speak to is ‘not cooperating’ with me. Hmmmm.

Where do you draw the line between doing your very best and pushing yourself past your limit?
